Available in: Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory
Sociology is offered in senior secondary across several Australian states, most prominently in VIC (VCE Sociology Units 1–4) and SA (SACE Society & Culture). Elements of sociology also appear in NSW (Society & Culture) and as elective components in QLD and WA through humanities pathways. The subject explores how individuals and groups interact within society, drawing on classical and contemporary theory, cultural studies, and social research methodology. At Modedu, we offer 1:1 tutoring to help students understand sociological frameworks, improve extended writing, and succeed in assessments involving case studies, media analysis, and investigations.
